Our Singing Lessons

$65.00 per 1 hour weekly private singing lesson

Singing Lessons are by appointment. Private singing lessons with Al Koehn are either 40 minutes or 1 hour in length, and are individually structured to the needs of each student, beginner, amateur or professional. Children 11 and older are accepted after a consultation meeting with Al and the parents or guardians.

Private sessions are to be purchased in blocks of 4 weekly session payable in advance or at the first session.

Sessions are given on a weekly basis at Al's Vocal Studio unless prior arrangements have been made. Due to the many students wishing to work with Al, bi-weekly sessions are usually not an option.

Al's 1 hour sessions are divided into  (1) voice development and (2) song coaching and recording. Professional instrumental backing tracks are often used, although Al often plays piano for songs.

I provide tapes, sheet music and music theory paperwork for a nominal fee.  These costs will vary from student to student depending on the need.

The first lesson will consist of an evaluation of the singing student to determine what level to start out at and also to find out what the student's particular goals and desires are for their future in singing.  Each student will have an individualized lesson plan created specifically for them.

I have over 30 years experience in vocal performing and training. I can help you get to the next level, whether you are auditioning, performing or afraid of a note that is "terrifying because it's high or low".

I guarantee you'll develop a method that makes sense to you, while you will become a better singer, no matter what style of music you want to sing.

My goal as a teacher is to help my student find his/her individual sound while giving a well rounded education in singing, sight singing, reading music and in interpreting a song.  I also help with auditions and learning how to choose the correct repertoire of songs.
